Many consumers see the Ford Fiesta as primarily an economy car. It’s a starter car, the type that you would get as a first car out of college. Why not. It is sporty. Looks chic in red. And gets great gas mileage. According to Edmunds review of the 2012 Ford Fiesta, this 4-cylinder, economy car can get up to 29 mpg in the city and 38 on the highway. It’s a very ordinary, non-flashy car, so to speak.
But in the world rally cars, however, the Ford Fiesta is a beast. A special version of this car called the Ford Fiesta RS WRC debutted in 2011 for rally car racing in competitions all over the world.
The RS WRC is powered by a 16-valve turbocharged 4-cylinder Ford EcoBoost engine 1.6 L with turbocharged. With 6-speed sequential manual transmission, the Ford World Rally Team had already won various competitions with the Fiesta RS WRC including, recently, 46º Rally de Portuga and 60th Uddeholm Swedish Rally.
